"Among the 20-plus items available for bidding at a special charity auction are a signed guitar from the Manic Street Preachers and tickets to see Tom Jones and Bryan Adams. The event, scheduled for Friday, June 14th, at Llangollen Town Hall, is dedicated to supporting the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod through fundraising."
Days before Bryan Adams performs at the renowned World-Famous Peace Festival, a special charity auction on June 14 will offer over 20 enticing items, including a signed Leeds United shirt by four Wales International Footballers.
The evening will also showcase Côr Daw, a unique Welsh Choir delighting audiences with Welsh renditions of popular hits by Queen, Abba, Elton John, Michael Jackson, and the Jersey Boys. Formed in 2011 by Pam Evans-Hughes for Wrexham-area Welsh learners, Côr DAW has captivated audiences at prestigious venues like Venue Cymru, Chester Cathedral, and the Millennium Centre.
Tickets, priced at £5, are available at Llangollen TIC for the 7:30 pm event, which will include a tombola. Proceeds will support the Llangollen Eisteddfod's charitable endeavors, fostering international unity through its annual peace festival.
Ian Lebbon, Chairman of the Eisteddfod’s Marketing Committee and the evening's auctioneer, expressed excitement about the event, highlighting star lots such as a guitar signed by the Manic Street Preachers, tickets to headline concerts featuring Tom Jones and Bryan Adams, among other treasures. Lebbon emphasized the significance of the funds raised, marking a vibrant beginning to the Eisteddfod’s summer festivities.
